What is Windrose?

Windrose is an open-world PvE pirate survival game by Kraken Express, published by Pocketpair, in Early Access since April 2026. You build bases and ships, explore islands and fight at sea, solo or in co-op crews of up to 8.

What can you do on a Windrose server?

Sail, build and fight with your crew on a persistent world that keeps your progress, kept private with a password and invite code.

How much RAM does a Windrose server need?

Windrose servers start at 6 GB, and the configurator suggests 8 GB for a small crew.

How do players join?

Share the server address, invite code and password from your dashboard with your crew.

Is my server private?

Yes. Every Windrose server gets a generated password and invite code, so only players you share them with can join.

Can I change the player limit?

Yes. Set Max players in your control panel's Startup settings.

I've never run a Windrose server before. Can you help if I get stuck?

Yes. Email support@octopuscloud.org (we aim to reply within a few hours) or ask in our Discord community. Your dashboard shows everything players need to connect, and the control panel gives you a live console, file manager and backups.

Can I change my plan or upgrade later?

Yes. Change RAM, storage, backups, the CPU boost, the hardware tier or the billing cycle from your dashboard. Upgrades apply immediately with a prorated charge; downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period. Switching between DDR4 Budget and DDR5 Premium moves your server to the new hardware for you.

How do I create a Windrose server?

Choose RAM and hardware above and check out. Your server is set up automatically, and you'll find its address, port, password and invite code on your dashboard.

How long does setup take?

Setup starts automatically right after checkout. The first start downloads the Windrose server files, so it can take several minutes before players can join; you can follow the progress in the control panel console.

Can I get my money back if I don't like my server?

Payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. There's no contract: cancel anytime from your dashboard and keep your server until the end of the period you've paid for. If you think you were charged in error, email support@octopuscloud.org and we'll review it in good faith.

What happens if I cancel?

Your server keeps running until the end of your paid period. After that we keep it and its backups for 30 days, and you can still download your files. Resubscribe within that window and everything is restored as it was. After 30 days it's permanently deleted.
