Core Keeper server hosting FAQ
What is Core Keeper?
Core Keeper is a mining sandbox adventure by Pugstorm. You wake up in vast underground caverns, then mine, craft, farm, fish and fight bosses to uncover the secrets of the Core.
What can you do on a Core Keeper server?
Explore and build a shared underground world with friends that stays online when you log off, try hard mode, and invite both PC and console players.
How much RAM does a Core Keeper server need?
Core Keeper servers start at 2 GB, and the configurator suggests 4 GB. Larger groups and bigger explored worlds benefit from more.
How do players join?
In Core Keeper choose Join Game and enter the Game ID and password from your dashboard.
Can console players join?
Yes. Crossplay lets PC and console players join the same server.
Can I switch to hard mode or change the player limit?
Yes. Set the world mode (normal or hard) and the maximum number of players (up to 100) in your control panel's Startup settings, then restart the server.
I've never run a Core Keeper server before. Can you help if I get stuck?
Yes. Email support@octopuscloud.org (we aim to reply within a few hours) or ask in our Discord community. Your dashboard shows everything players need to connect, and the control panel gives you a live console, file manager and backups.
Can I change my plan or upgrade later?
Yes. Change RAM, storage, backups, the CPU boost, the hardware tier or the billing cycle from your dashboard. Upgrades apply immediately with a prorated charge; downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period. Switching between DDR4 Budget and DDR5 Premium moves your server to the new hardware for you.
How do I create a Core Keeper server?
Choose RAM and hardware above and check out. Your server is set up automatically, and you'll find its Game ID and password on your dashboard.
How long does setup take?
Setup starts automatically right after checkout. Your Game ID and password appear on your dashboard once the world finishes generating, usually within a few minutes.
Can I get my money back if I don't like my server?
Payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. There's no contract: cancel anytime from your dashboard and keep your server until the end of the period you've paid for. If you think you were charged in error, email support@octopuscloud.org and we'll review it in good faith.
What happens if I cancel?
Your server keeps running until the end of your paid period. After that we keep it and its backups for 30 days, and you can still download your files. Resubscribe within that window and everything is restored as it was. After 30 days it's permanently deleted.
Where are your servers located?
In the Eastern USA. You can test your ping from our homepage.
