7 Days to Die server hosting FAQ
What is 7 Days to Die?
7 Days to Die is an open-world zombie survival crafting game by The Fun Pimps. You scavenge, craft and build defenses, and every seventh night a Blood Moon horde attacks.
What can you do on a 7 Days to Die server?
Survive Blood Moon hordes and build a fortified base together, play on Navezgane or a randomly generated world, tune the difficulty, and play across PC and console.
How much RAM does a 7 Days to Die server need?
7 Days to Die servers start at 4 GB, and the configurator suggests 6 GB. Larger random worlds and more players benefit from 8 GB or more.
Can console players join?
Yes. Crossplay is on by default, so PC and console players can join the same server. You can turn it off in your control panel's Startup settings.
How do players join?
Choose Join a Game, then Connect to IP, and enter yourname.play.octopuscloud.org, the port from your dashboard and the server password.
Can I change the difficulty or the world?
Yes. Set the difficulty (0 is easiest, 5 hardest) and the world (Navezgane, or RWG for a random world) in Startup settings, then restart. Changing the world starts a new map.
I've never run a 7 Days to Die server before. Can you help if I get stuck?
Yes. Email support@octopuscloud.org (we aim to reply within a few hours) or ask in our Discord community. Your dashboard shows everything players need to connect, and the control panel gives you a live console, file manager and backups.
Can I change my plan or upgrade later?
Yes. Change RAM, storage, backups, the CPU boost, the hardware tier or the billing cycle from your dashboard. Upgrades apply immediately with a prorated charge; downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period. Switching between DDR4 Budget and DDR5 Premium moves your server to the new hardware for you.
How do I create a 7 Days to Die server?
Choose RAM and hardware above and check out. Your server is set up automatically, and you'll find its address, port and password on your dashboard.
How long does setup take?
Setup starts automatically right after checkout. The first start downloads the 7 Days to Die server files, so it can take several minutes before players can join; you can follow the progress in the control panel console.
Can I get my money back if I don't like my server?
Payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. There's no contract: cancel anytime from your dashboard and keep your server until the end of the period you've paid for. If you think you were charged in error, email support@octopuscloud.org and we'll review it in good faith.
What happens if I cancel?
Your server keeps running until the end of your paid period. After that we keep it and its backups for 30 days, and you can still download your files. Resubscribe within that window and everything is restored as it was. After 30 days it's permanently deleted.
Where are your servers located?
In the Eastern USA. You can test your ping from our homepage.
